The Ethiopians use musical instruments, such as a device that is hand-held and shaken back and forth.
They also dance, quite literally, and jump up and down, in imitation of King David before the Ark of the Covenant.
The Oriental Orthodox Churches cross from left to right to signify that Christ has taken us from sin to new life in Him.

Hello! I'm a Roman Catholic and felt blessed to witness the Maronite Divine Liturgy on EWTN.
I agree, the commentator seemed to "get in the way at times." She's start talking in the middle of the Priest singing, and mess up the scene.
But it was nice to have a bit of translation. She meant no harm I'm sure.
I hate to say this, but we (U.S. Roman Catholics)have lost something in the Mass- a feeling of sacredness. I think it's the very modern music that ends up sounding so bland.
I was stunned and overwhelmed at the beauty and depth to this Mass. Hearing Aramaic being said was like being at a Mass in Jeruselem 2000 yrs ago with the first Catholics!

The first verse the Ukrainians were singing really was a modern Ukrainian translation/paraphrase of Kol' Slaven' Nash Hospod' v Sion'i. The second verse was something addressed to the Virgin Mary (at one point asking her to pray "behind us", which seems odd) and managing to work in a reference to the "Sacred Heart". But one must consider the source.

Incognitus Perhaps someone confused za nami with za nas? I am presuming such a difference in case while using the same preposition renders such a distinction in Ukraianian. Forgive me. Tony
