Why does the Byzantine Daily Worship state such complicated rubrics for the the entrance hymn during the post festal period? This book states four different combinations: post feast on a weekday, post feast on a Sunday, leave taking on a weekday, and leave taking on a Sunday. Thanks, Paulus

Hi Paulus,

BDW provides the rubrics that are used in the liturgical recension they use. They don't seem overly complicated, and if they do seem that way to you you will get used to them.

I don't know the specific combination you are referring to, but generally the differences are because Sundays outrank most feast days (except those of the Lord).

John
