In my readings, I always read about the three types of monasticism: anchorites, skete/lavra, cenobites. Yet, I recently found it mentioned as four types, distinguishing between skete and lavra as different. I always thought the difference was only language (skete from Egypt / lavra from Palestine). Can anybody clarify? Thanks and blessings.
(if this is not the correct thread, I apologize.)

Skete and lavra are both semi-eremitic only being distinguished in size and autonomy. Lavra are larger and may have sketes dependent on them.
