I had a slight heart attack this week and spent a couple days in the hospital. Doing well and hope to continue well. I'd appreciate it if folks would keep me in their prayers.

Many years,

Neil

I'm doing very well - there was a very significant blockage in one artery, but they were able to clear it and insert a stent without the need to do surgery.

Spent about 48h in hospital and was discharged with only 2 meds - a blood thinner and one aimed at reducing my cholesterol level (which is actually not too bad), as well as a firm instruction to quit smoking.
I participated in a smoking cessation program earlier this year and was doing quite well until recently. The attack wasn't precipitated by the renewed smoking, it was the culmination of a lot of prior years of feeding that vice.

Thank you all for your prayers. I appreciate you all more than you can imagine!

Many years,

Neil

Thank you for the update, Neil! Prayers and glad a prolonged stay there wasn't necessary and that the stent was successfully done.

Christ is in our midst!!

Neil,

Nicotine is a hard monkey to get off your back. Prayers for your success in ditching it. May I suggest sending for some St Nektarios oil from the St Nektarios Greek Orthodox Monastery in NY. St Nektarios is a wonderful saint who was credited with many miracles even during his lifetime.

Bob, my brother and old friend,

Thank you for the suggestion. I'm following through on it this afternoon!

Many years,

Neil

Walter,

Thank you for your prayerful wishes. And, thank you, especially, for coming forth from the shadows of two decades ago - even before my time here - to post them. I pray that your journey to reclaim your family's Eastern heritage was fruitful!

Many years,

Neil
