I recently published an article on Byzantine Empire [byzantineempire.org] titled " Byzantine Catholicism: A Historical Perspective [byzantineempire.org] " and I’d love to hear your thoughts and insights about it.

The article explores the historical and theological relationship between Byzantine traditions and Catholicism. It dives into the liturgical differences, key historical events such as the Council of Florence, and the broader cultural impact of these interactions on the Byzantine Empire.

As the author, my goal was to provide a balanced and engaging look at this complex relationship while inviting readers to reflect on its implications for both history and modern-day church relations.

Points to consider for discussion:

1) How do you feel about the way I approached the theological and liturgical contrasts ?
2) Do you think the article effectively captures the historical significance of the events discussed ?
3) Are there additional aspects or perspectives you’d like to see explored in future writings ?

I look forward to your feedback and hope this sparks a meaningful conversation ✅

The article makes quite a leap from the era of the Ecumenical Councils to the error of the Great Schism without even a cursory probing of the centuries of widening fissures which led up to 1054, casting only broad generalities and categories.

Greater detail is needed. Hints: Charlemagne, and, later the forcible breakup of clergy marriages.
