Christ is in our midst!!

When the enthusiasm for your profession or job begins to wane, check for burnout. When reading professional journals, attending meetings, and networking with colleagues becomes a chore, check for burnout. I did recently and decided to retire after 59 years in my profession.

Bob,

Prayers and best wishes for a long and healthy retirement! Iโ€™m sure you will find new and challenging things to do in the future.

Retiring from a business or profession doesn't need to mean "retiring from life".

The change can open up fresh opportunities for service to Christ and His Church.

It is all God's time, after all. Use it to His glory!

I didn't so much decide to retire, but recognized that it had happened.

I was practicing bankruptcy law, and covid happened. With no foreclosures, repossessions, collections, and execution, and money freely handed out, the last straws that caused people to call were gone.

And then I noticed that my retirement accounts made far more each year than I had ever grossed, and that we could tap my wife's IRA accounts in a couple of months, so . . .

the alternative was starting my business again from scratch in my late 50s, only to close in a couple of years anyway.

I'd always thought I'd return to a college classroom after retiring, but there is no way that I'm stepping into that political environment!

I'm sure it's a well earned retirement. Prayers for you! And that's dedication, by the way!
