Christ is Born!

Asking for prayers for Christine, my wife's Godmother who also served as a Godmother over our marriage and the first two of our children. She finished her race after a bout with cancer and passed peacefully at home among her family earlier today. And prayers for my wife who is deeply affected by this passing as this is her first real encounter with losing a loved one.

Eternal Memory. I pray that your wife's Godmother is with the angels and saints in heaven, and may your wife be comforted by God during this tragic time.

May her memory be eternal, and all y'all (including her), have my prayers, and may she rest in peace. Both my maternal grandparents died from cancer, so y'all have my sympathy.

Thanks everyone. I am sorry to hear of your encounter with cancer as well. All four of my grandparents ultimately died from cancer and I suspect I will some day as well (unless something else happens, God forbid). Terrible illness but it does have a silver lining. It gives you time to put your affairs in order, to mend broken relationships in your life (most importantly with God) and approach God sacramentally when you breathe your last. That is a blessing beyond measure. Lord preserve us all from a sudden death.
