This sounds like some Orwellian speak. Read Here. [vaticannews.va]

Quote
The General Secretariat of the Synod creates a new Commission tasked with developing ideas for the revision of the Code of Canons of the Eastern Churches “in light of the synodal journey.”

What are your thoughts on this proposal?

There's a study group dedicated to Eastern Catholics. Here are the reports so far:
Initial: https://www.synod.va/content/dam/sy...4_10-02_CONGREGAZIONE-1_GRUPPO-1-ENG.pdf
Interim: https://www.synod.va/en/the-synodal...tudy-groups/interim-reports/group-1.html

The biggest concern from the study group is how to take care of faithful in the diaspora. Oddly enough, there is no final report yet. One theory I have is that "joint" eparchies or equivalents are going to be created. This is based on new rite-based categories in the digital Annuario Pontificio such as "Antiochene", "Alexandrian", and "Constantinopolitan".

As for the issue with "Synodal", "Synodality", or any other of its derivatives, the biggest problem within the Catholic Church is that its meaning has become nebulous. Some factions such as the German synodalists look towards Protestant synods/councils. Meanwhile, others including Eastern Catholics look towards synods/councils of other Eastern Churches. If anything, the Metropolitan and other Church sui iuris ought to be demanding their own legitimate synods.

Christ is in our midst!!

I thought that this whole "Synod"/"Synodality" of Pope Francis had quietly disappeared with Pope Leo's election. There was supposed to be a big meeting last fall if Pope Francis had lived and there was no news as to its being.

Yes, it does sound like Orwellian doublespeak.

If I was the Eastern Churches, I would be leveraging the obsession with Synodality to push for further de-latinization and more self-governance independent of Rome. I understand the Synodal way has something entirely different in mind when it speaks of Synodality, but I feel this is a once in centuries opportunity for Eastern Churches to gain their autonomy.

If the Latin church is truly committed to being synodal, they should give more autonomy to Eastern synods. Have the Vatican put its money where its mouth is.
