We're very excited to announce that there is a Divine Liturgy scheduled in Central Illinois for the first time in nearly 20 years. Fr. Loya (Annunciation of the Mother of God in Homer Glen, IL) will be coming down to celebrate Divine Liturgy on March 22, 2026 at 10 AM at St. John the Baptist Catholic Church in Bradford, IL. Please help us spread the word! We hope this is just the beginning of many more!
This is awesome news. How has the community been getting on these last couple months? Is there stability? Growth? I grew up in DeKalb, IL and we never had any EC churches near us (nearest was in Aurora but I never went East as the closer to Chicago you get the more problems you're gonna have). I have family down in Bloomington-Normal area and if we make a trip back to Illinois to visit family in the future I wouldn't mind making the extra drive to check out the community with the wife and kids.
