Did you notice his use of the royal "we?" Back to the original topic of this thread, "which church should I join?" Don't join mine! We have enough difficult people of our own already. wink

Does Nee have his members drink grape Koolaid?

Why haven't YOU responded to my questions?

No handy cult tracts lying around to give a good answer?

Troy,

Didn't your mother teach you manners? It's rude to come into someone else's home with a hostile attitude and insult them. This forum is home to many of us, and I, for one, do not appreciate this invasion. I don't let JW's into my home when they come around on Saturday mornings, and I certainly don't think we should have to put up with this garbage from you! Go peddle your heresies elsewhere.

Tammy,

Invite ALL JW's into your home. Have ready a few copies of the Bible for them. Be willing to discuss your faith with them. They are lost sheep and many of them have stopped appearing at my front door after only a few enlightening discussions. Most cult members don't really know the Bible; they simply cut-and-paste propaganda tracts given to them. Most don't even know how the books for the New Testament were considered Scripture, especially when not one book is ever listed in the Bible! They are lost sheep and consider it a privilege to bring them home after they appear at your door. See, you don't even have to walk in muddy pastures to go find them. Our Lord brings them to us.

Peace and God's love,
Joe

Joe,

Maybe so, but I bet they don't get rude to you when you invite them in.

The dumbing down here is getting utterly billigerent. It is to be expected coming for the great harlot of religious Rome (Rev. 14.8; ch.17.)

Troy,

The harlot you mention in Revelation is not specifically Rome. i have seen you use this several times, and it is not only incorrect but an insult to many.

Suffice it to say, the harlot most likely represents Jerusalem to John specifically (a view which appears to have been taken up through the latter part of the second century) but more generally all demonic and violent forms of headship that seek to surplant the place of God and murder or abuse the innocent.

The harlot being translated as the Roman church was only entertained by sectarian heretical groups in the 4th and 5th century and then later during the sectarian Reformation. Again, your view is a small minority and is indeed not supportable except by a biased modern historical reflection upon the Middle Ages.

i myself am not Roman Catholic, but i know such talk is offensive to many. Perhaps you feel wronged by some here, but it is not surprising when you come speaking of people here as damned and heretical without request and then refuse to respond to their rebuttals in a concise manner. Throwing stones in anyone's house is likely to result in an unpleasant reaction, and you should not be surprised that your rude behavior has caused offense.

Yours,
the_grip

maybe its just me but i have found that it is not oly so easy but also acceptable for people of other faiths to bash Roman and Eastern Catholics. But if a Catholic were to bash another religion and tell them that they were wrong we would be seen as harsh an critical. So why dont Catholics go around bashing other religions? Because Jesus wouldn't want that. How can the RCC be a great harlot when it was started by Jesus and his followers. No other Christian religion can boast this fact besides the Catholic and Orthodox churches. All other forms of Christianity were formed by a man who like all of us is imperfect. Perhaps this is the wrong place to voice my opinion on this mattter but after reading some truly outrageous and supercillious posts by churchwork i had to say something.

You are a funny boy, Troy.

Many on these forums, Troy, don't even read the Book of Revelation in their churches.

Can we now discuss the Gospel of Anaximander?

I enjoyed getting caught up with the Forums, and especially seeing for myself the, ahem, interesting threads like this one, which another member alerted me to.

Churchwork, there are lots of anagrams you can make from Santa Claus besides the one you mentioned.

My personal favorites are "Lucas Satan" (obviously - have you seen his last few movies?) and "USCLA Satan" (their team hasn't been doing too well these days). wink

Tammy, my wife and I have a set routine for the JW's or the RLDS which we also get around here occasionally. We love it when they show up. We light a candle, if we have time our hand censer, and offer a short prayer with some bows towards our icon corner.

We invite them to sit at our table, giving them a special seat facing our icon corner. And then we usually do most of the talking. smile
