Papal infallibility in the Church by Vatican I seems to be allright for eastern catholics.
But what about the dogma of Immaculate conception - is it as clear as the first one?!?
Of course both are rejected by orthodox and protestant churches...

I am not Orthodox, but from my understanding they reject it because they do not follow the same view of Original Sin that the West does.

"More honorable than the Cherubim, and beyond compare more glorious than the Seraphim". Is there any other saint to whom such language is assigned in our Byzantine services?

Dear Friends,

Once again, the Immaculate Conception as a dogma/doctrine, in pith and substance, affirms that the Most Holy Theotokos was sanctified as the Temple of the Holy Spirit from her Conception in the womb of her mother, St Anne.

This is what the Orthodox Church has ALWAYS affirmed as well (also with respect to St John the Baptist!).

As for the Western view of Original Sin, I think the West is more than capable of changing its mind on it . . . wink

Alex
