Are there any Greek Catholic parishes actually in Greece? I know that there are a few Roman Catholic ones. Paul, junior member

Paul, Yes, there are a few Greek Catholics(Byzantine) in Greece. Here is a link to some info about them: http://www.cnewa.org/ecc-greek-catho.htm Canonically, I am a member of that Church since I was Greek Orthodox and then united with Rome. God Bless, David

The Ukrainian Greek Catholics in Athens now numerically outnumber the Greek Greek Catholics (got that?) there--or so I was told only yesterday. A priest friend will be visiting them in August and so can verify this.

This is a small, but important Church. Anyone visiting Athens is always well rewarded by a visit to this community.
Not reported by the interesting link, is the new pastoral responsibility that the Exarchate has for Greek (and Byzantine) Catholic immigrants to Greece from the Arab and Slavic countries. [Melkite and Ukrainian mostly.] These are now much more numerous and have looked to the Exarchate for pastoral care. It will prove that there was a greater reason that the Exarchate has endured, not only for the 'Greek' Greek Catholics, but for all those who will migrate there, in the 'new Europe'.

Would "Hellenic Greek Catholic" be less confusing than "Greek Greek Catholic"? How about "Really Really Greek Catholic" or, if you're in certain areas of eastern PA, "Hard Greek Catholic"? Dave
