Not at all. I can't really claim to have known Dorothy Day closely (though I met her a few times), but I can claim some insight into her thinking; she would have signed that letter with good will. She might even have made it stronger.

I cannot quarrel with the idea of a "Just War" theory. Augustine may have been right. Or he may have not been.

But my studies of history have led me to believe that not one, nay, not one!, was ever fought justly.

I will content myself with that.
