PS: the message board on mine is only a backup now for when others get too busy or are being serviced. I still maintain an Icon gallary with over 1,000 Icons and growing all the time.

Alex,
If you truly believe this then why have you lamented the loss of Serge who was invited not to post?
"First of all, the idea that this board is not as "open" as some would like it to be is, well, nonsense. At least in my view."
For that matter, if this were true where are some of our old time posters who were invited not to post? Where are they?
For that matter, why are gays and Muslims welcomed and Orthophiles discouraged, except of course, for Greek man?

Oh, Dan. I might be a convert, but you make me feel like a real Slav!

For that matter, why are gays and Muslims welcomed and Orthophiles discouraged, except of course, for Greek man? Dan, Please get your facts straight. Those who have been invited not to post have only been asked not to post on certain subjects if they could not do so without resorting to the use of pejoratives. I realize that some would love to use this Forum as a platform to attack what they do not like in the Roman Catholic Church. Many of the topics that they would like to lump together in such attacks on "AmChurch" will not be solved except by rational and civil discourse and finding ways to encourage the leaders of our respective Churches to do the correct thing. Can you please tell me which Orthophiles have been discouraged from posting here? Serge was asked not to use the "AmChurch" pejorative (as you were) in favor of substantive discussions on the issues. He chose to not participate here rather than go the extra mile to be polite. In a private message not too long ago a person I respect highly who participates in this forum told me that those few participants who state that: "I am leaving now. I no longer get anything 'spiritual' out of the forum. The forum no longer meets my expectations. I am tired of fighting with others." This person boiled wisely boiled this down to these individuals really meaning: "I do not agree with forum policy or the abundance of viewpoints that are not in agreement with my own and therefore, to save my own sense of pride, I will no longer participate." Why are gays and Muslims welcomed on the Forum? Because it is my hope that people like you will find a way to witness the truth of Jesus Christ and his teachings to them and lead them into the Church. Admin

Then I shall do my best to meet that expectation.

Dear Dan, You are a great Christian and you are both cherished and loved here (and I'm sure a whole lot of other places too!). As for pride, you have none. I suffer the dilemma of being proud of my humility . . . And, if it's any consolation, you should know that I myself - yes, wonderful Alex - was, on more than one occasion , on the brink of being sent to my room from here. I've learned a lot from my own experiences of pride and boisterousness, and I still need to work on it. But I like to think I'm cute enough that people will forgive me. I know it's all hard to believe, but there you have it. God bless, Alex
