Hmmm - I belong to Byzantine parish and sometimes attend Liturgy at the Ukr Catholic Shrine OTHF and both chant the Creed. I can't tell you why its different, though.

I hear though that the Ukranians and the Ruthenians do chant the Creed.

Would someone verify this for me and explain why the difference exists?

I find it hard to believe that many of the Ruthenian (i.e Rusyn) Metropolitan parishes still chant/sing the Creed when a lot of parishes (Harrisburg, Antracite Hard Coal Region parishes, Windber, Monroeville etc., etc.) almost always read it. Im a "vostochnik" and I believe it should be sung. The "V'iruju" in the Subcarpathian-Rus' recension of Church Slavonic is the most recongnized part of Prostopinije!
