Sharon Sharon, Which is X-Man is Alex most like? A stud like Wolverine? Handsome like Cyclops? Certainly not Toad! :p Or perhaps he's Professor Xavier! Tammy

Dear Tammy, Sharon's reference to "blue-green" is simply "sour grapes" under another name . Alex

Alex, Yes, and I suppose a toad would be blue-green... Sour grapes? Ah, Alex, where were you when I was single?! I came back to edit my post, above, but you had beat me to the punch! Tammy

Sharon, I can't even BEGIN to picture that! Maybe we'd better stop teasing poor Alex... I truly enjoy bantering with him, but it's all in fun and I don't want to carry it too far and offend him. (Sorry, Alex.) Tammy

Tammy, Isn't it a hoot how tastes vary? Personally, I'd happily watch Patrick Stewart (Dr. X in the movies) reading the phone book. I recall seeing him on a talk show a couple years ago - he was much amused at being a "sex symbol" now, saying he only regretted that it hadn't happened when he was 19. My, my, my, hasn't this thread wandered? (Pushing up the "glasses" that make it safe for me to interact with humankind...) Sharon

Dear Tammy, No problem - it's all in good fun! Even the Administrator isn't saying anything . . . Actually, I was showing Sharon around our antique cannon from the Crimean War when she visited me and I made a small joke . . . It was the closest I've ever gotten to being "canonized" literally . . . And I wouldn't take what Sharon says too, too literally . . . She was simply amazed at how one so great-looking could be so well-read and suave . . . O.K., I'll go upstairs and do something useful with my life . . . Alex

Sharon As a long-time Star Trek fan, I'm also a big fan of Patrick Stewart. The next Lawrence Olivier, if I do say so myself! Well, I suppose he'd have to fight Ian McKellan for that title. And yes, "distinguished" men like Patrick Stewart do have a certain sex appeal, don't they? I'm not really the type to swoon over movie stars, though. I'll take personality over looks, any day! With actors, you never know what their TRUE personality is. Tammy

Oh, absolutely agreed - and with authors too. But a gal can daydream, eh? I fear I got too little sleep this weekend 'cause we got Season III and IV of Stargate SG1 out from the library......(Now Christopher Judge - THERE'S some eye candy ) I've been married quite happily for almost 20 years. Doesn't blunt my appreciation of aesthetics in the least! Cheers, (and pass the popcorn) Sharon

Dear Sharon, But will Chris Judge go and clean bathrooms for you at the drop of a hat! Now there's the rub . . . See y'a and God bless! Alex (The women's pet, and the men's regret)

Dear Sharon,
A fellow sci-fi fan! The big muscle-men like Christopher Judge really aren't my type (I keep telling my husband that, and he KEEPS lifting weights! sigh.)
I suppose if I had to pick a character from SGI... Well, I really like O'Neil's sense of humor... Like I said, personality. Jonas is kind of cute, and so was Daniel, but they were BORING.
I liked Riker in his younger days on TNG. Those blue eyes! And there's something about Mulder's mystique in X-Files... There we go with Mystique again!

Alex Sorry, Alex, but since I've never seen you (or your picture), it's a little hard to gush! :p Originally posted by Orthodox Catholic: (The women's pet, and the men's regret) That's probably why the men here fight with you, and the women don't! Tammy

Gee, I like Daniel Striped Tiger. We don't have cable, so we're a season or two behind, but I miss him in the season after he turned into a CGI wisp of energy. Especially appreciated his love for his wife, and the hope that drove him to continue the search for her - and then for her son. Yeah, I'm a sucker for character development. (CJ wouldn't be half as interesting without the honor and strength of character that led him to SGC.) Funny - my husband and I truly knew it was a permanent committment when we combined our libraries (which oddly enough included seven copies of "Zen and the Art of Motorcycle Maintenance" - which neither of us had ever purchased.) He had a bunch of Niven, and I had Robin McKinley, but there was an awful lot of convergence elsewhere...... (Bless me Father, I read Marion Zimmer Bradley...) Sharon
