The Prophecy of St Nilus -14th century
After the year 1900, toward the middle of the 20th century, ...When the time for the advent of the Antichrist approaches, people's minds will grow cloudy from carnal passions, and dishonour and lawlessness will grow stronger. Then the world will become unrecognizable. People's appearances will change, and it will be impossible to distinguish men from women due to their shamelessness in dress and style of hair. These people will be cruel and will be like wild animals because of the temptations of the Antichrist. There will be no respect for parents and elders, love will disappear, and Christian pastors, bishops, and priests will become vain men, completely failing to distinguish the right hand way from the left. ...
Lord have mercy!
St Nilus pray for us!
[Linked Image] I can see a huge number of valid applications in quoting St. Nilus here (by the way St. Nilus prophesied in the 4th/5th century).
"Christian pastors, bishops, and priests will become vain men, completely failing to distinguish the right hand way from the left."
For instance, why hasn't Teddy Kennedy been ex-communicated publicly formally for his absolute constant public support of legislation to make abortion as wide-spread as possible?
And a further word on the validity of quoting prophecy, although it bothers those who would rather have busy work to keep them occupied and not have to worry; what prophecy does is make us realize that the Judge of all is coming and He will brook no excuses.
Matthew 25:
v.41 Then he shall say to them also that shall be on his left hand: Depart from me, you cursed, into everlasting fire, which was prepared for the devil and his angels.
42 For I was hungry and you gave me not to eat: I was thirsty and you gave me not to drink.
43 I was a stranger and you took me not in: naked and you covered me not: sick and in prison and you did not visit me.
44 Then they also shall answer him, saying: Lord, when did we see thee hungry or thirsty or a stranger or naked or sick or in prison and did not minister to thee?
45 Then he shall answer them, saying: Amen: I say to you, as long as you did it not to one of these least, neither did you do it to me.
46 And these shall go into everlasting punishment: but the just, into life everlasting.
