Yep, that's him. I think the thing that finally caused me to dismiss him as something of a nut, was when I got a letter from him that said we should all wear brown scapulars while showering, in case we accidentally fall and die. You know, I have never felt that God or Mary were waiting for me to not have a scapular on so they could nail me. I don't think they operate like that. I heard one of the cardinals at a meeting I attended some years ago (name escapes me - senior moment eek ) say we shouldn't take Fr. Gruner seriously. That was easy for me, since I found it hard to take Fr. Gruner seriously to begin with.

Hasn't Fr. Gruner been disciplined by the Vatican, or something like that?

Been searching for that and the best I can come up with quickly is Wanderer Article [theotokos.org.uk]

I have seen 'stuff' on EWTN Q&A about him - but of course as soon as you are looking for something you can't find it. frown

By the way - since I have been a smart aleck all my life and can't resist - my best friend who is a priest calls Fr. Gruner "Fr. Groaner." biggrin

Uh, what does "ROFL" mean? I am not too computer literate and the only things I can think of are pretty crude...

It is a dangerous thing when and "individual" places himself above the Church.
Look at Luther and the multitude of schisms and heresies he spawned.

Dear Tammy,

That original sin is transmitted by the Father is a "well-known" JEWISH belief. It is actually the basis of some early (and modern) arguments against the dogma of the Immaculate Conception - namely, since original sin is transmitted through the physical father, and Jesus did not have a physical father, the dogma of the IC is unnecessary as a means to preserve the holiness of Jesus.

Blessings,
Marduk

No, Amadeus, I am not speaking of you; as far as I can recall your posts are reasonable. I am talking about those who dare pronounce upon the orthodoxy of the Pope. I am going to start addressing them as "your Holiness"...
