Glory to Jesus Christ!
Dear Hiermonk Elias,
Your post questioned the propriety of referring to an "icon" of one who has not been officially glorified by the Church.
In the glorification process in the Russian Orthodox Church, one of the questions to be asked is "Has an icon been written of this person?"
There were icons of St. Xenia of St. Petersburg and of St. John Maximovich long before they were glorified. Naturally, these icons do not portray their subjects with a halo---that would be to make a statement that the church has not yet ratified.
In reference to Met. Andriy, there is also an iconographic fresco of him in the apse icons at Ss. Volodymyr and Olha Ukrainian Catholic Church in Chicago (without an icon, of course).
