Well, it took just a little over 17 years, but "Patriarch of the West" is indeed back: Why is Pope Francis embracing the patriarchy (of the West)? [pillarcatholic.com]

Does this mean that the five currently named "papal basilicas" will revert to "patriarchal basilicas" once again?:

St. John Lateran: the Pope, the Bishop of Rome and the Patriarch of the West.
St. Peter's Basilica: the Patriarch of Constantinople.
St. Paul Outside the Walls: the Patriarch of Alexandria.
St. Mary Major: the Patriarch of Antioch.
St. Lawrence Outside the Walls: the Patriarch of Jerusalem

IT still is a good tittle! I still use it. And it is okay for our orthodox brothers, too.

I like the title! It's one thing that, from what I understand, Catholics and Most Orthodox, seem to be fine with.
