I thought Bishop Robert Moskal was the Ukrainian bishop of Parma? Bishop John (Kudrick) is the Ruthenian bishopof Parma.

A proper Irish would replace that coffee with Bailey's!

The latter jogs the mind staccato-ly! biggrin

Neil,

I also noticed you turned the US Apostolic Nuncio into an Italian. No doubt, he can speak Italian, and the surname may have its roots in Italy, wink but Don Gabriel hails from South America.

Wish I could go to my home state to see this, I was born at the Roslindale State Hospital and baptized at Most Precious Blood Church nearby in Hyde Park.

Many Years to the new Archbishop.

I hope it's possible to see pictures of this enthronement, the Catholic TV should cover the event as it would be an excellent ocassion to make Eastern Christians known to the American people.

Deacon John,

Hmmm ... so I did. No excuse, sloppy typing. The shifting of Bishop Kudrick into Bishop Moskal's seat is more understandable - I was just trying to get into the "All Ukrainians are Slavs, therefore all Slavs are Ukrainians" mode that has been popular in some circles of late biggrin .

James,

You're definitely dating yourself. I'm guessing that Roslindale General Hospital has been closed for a quarter of a century - and it must be ten years prior to that when it underwent a name change. I'm trying to remember when they last did deliveries - it seems to me that was even further back.

Mexican,

Best I can promise will be some still photos, if I can get a few minutes in which to snap them between airport runs. Not sure if Boston Catholic Television is planning to film and broadcast the occasion; if so, it may be made available to outlets like EWTN, I suppose.

Latest news from the Chancery:

Metropolitan Basil will also be attending the enthronement (and has selected a particularly inconvenient return flight time frown ).

Incognitus,

If you're attending, forward me your flight info through the Admin and I'll arrange to have you picked up at Logan (which would be no problem, since it looks as though one or the other of us will be there at very regular intervals throughout Monday, Tuesday, and until noon on Wednesday).

Many years,

Neil

Greg,

Thanks. There looks to be about 30 Eastern and Latin hierarchs coming. The Latins are local (all but one, I believe, of those in New England, including the emeriti).

The Easterners ... well, I made 4 trips to Logan yesterday - 2 are scheduled today - and 3 or 4 tomorrow (including both Slav Metropolitans, arriving within 5 minutes of each other, on the same airline - making my life easier biggrin - I love it when that happens).

Please feel free to drive over and attend the Liturgy. Given the number of Ukrainian hierarchs in attendance, you'll feel at home biggrin .

BTW, what is this about Major-Archbishop Husar visiting Christ the King sometime in the immediate future? (Our rector tried to tell me that it was happening this week; I pointed out that Archbishop Stefan and others had arrival and departure flights scheduled around our ceremonies and that didn't seem likely if their presiding hierarch was going to be in town). Besides which, I know (certainly hope) that you would have told us, if that was planned smile

Many years,

Neil

Neil,

Thanks for the invitation but I have been at my Toronto office since early last week and will not be in Boston until Wednesday evening.

Patriarch Lubomyr is scheduled to be in Boston on Thursday, and I have not heard anything to the contrary.

Hey,

Speaking of Archbishop Stefan, he gave the homily Sunday at the Shrine of the Immaculate Conception in D.C., it was on EWTN. He gave them an awesome icon of the feast. His vestmants were beautiful. It was so cool to see a major Eastern bishop doing that. Oh , smile his homily was good too!

Neil,

you've probably been busy with your chauffer duites, but when you have time, please gives us the update on the newly enthroned Melkite hierarch of Newton.

Deacon John,

That I have - this was the first day this week that I've not been driving someone somewhere (who is the patron saint of chauffeurs confused ?), being stuffed with food by the bishop's housekeeper :p , and/or being hugged and kissed by bearded men in black cool shouting "Neil! keefak? Thank God". Last night was also the first in which I was able to have more than 4 hours sleep (even my hyperactive 3.5 year old felt it prudent to let Daddy sleep this morning biggrin ). And, all of my computer time has been spent before pcs at the Cathedral rectory or the Chancery - creating lists or researching info.

Today, and not one of the prior days this week (luckily  ), is my wife's birthday and I needs must devote some time to both her and the kids. So, I just logged in briefly, while waiting for her return from a trip to the mall with her folks, who are visiting for a few days.

I promise that, sometime this weekend, I will post in some detail on the newly-enthroned eparch, the ceremonies, and my impressions of the several EC hierarchs whom I had the opportunity to meet for the first time. I already started typing it in Word, so that I could work on it gradually.

Many years,

Neil
