Brian,
Many churches started out with no Iconostasis and later had them installed. If you expect that a church be "finished" before you can worship in it, then there a great many which would not be worthy of your presence. frown

Michelle is absolutly correct in pointing out to put your money where your mouth is! biggrin

My own home parish did not have an icon screen for 25 years. It has had one now for the past 20+ years. It takes money (DONATIONS) to make things happen.

Ludmilla is absolutely right

we need to support the monasteries.

Pull out your checkbooks and pick a monastery!

They need us...and we need them

even more than we need an iconostasis

One way I try to support monasteries is by making it my policy to purchase religious items such as icons, rosaries, chotkis, books, etc from monasteries instead of secular companies. Also many communities sell items such as soaps, cheeses, linens etc that make great gifts especially this time of year. true they cost a little more then mass produced items, but the quality and craftsmenship are worth it. You get what you pay for....if young people see the adults around them making support of religious communities a priority, it might encourage vocations.
