Dear Anhelyna,
It was the Native peoples in North America that first produced maple syrup.
Pioneers from Europe often had to rely on honey as a sweetener - and taking honey from wild bees was often a stinging indictment of pioneer life!
Within fifty years of discovering the First Nations' practice of producing maple syrup - this became an industry and tonnes were exported to Europe.
But you are already sweet enough . . .
