I heard some very disturbing news from a cousin of mine. He is in the army and is stationed in Germany. He said that the priests over there are being severely persecuted. He said that one of them went hiking and came back and found all of his priest-friends dead. He also told me that there was one priest who was saying Mass when someone rolled a human head into the church. I had heard from another source that all the priests who were still orthodox and loyal to Rome were expelled from germany. This is truly sad and indeed deserves our prayers.

Joe,

Not that I'm denying the possibility, but is there any independent verification of this? I couldn't find anything on Catholic World News, EWTN or anywhere else, for that matter. One would think that such activities would at least make the news...

Wondering.....

I'm part German-American. I speak fluent German since I did University studies in Munich. I listen to the Deutsche Welle (German Radio) on shortwave (yeah, I'm that traditional) and on the web (yeah, I'm that modern).

I've not heard of such stuff. Sounds like the 'urban rumor' stuff to me. -- Aluminum Chloride in deodorant causes cancer, needles are left in phone coin-return slots that cause AIDS, sitting in a bus seat that was used by a TB-infected person can transmit TB; etc.

People like to have the crap scared out of them. Witness Freddy Kruger, Part 12 and counting. Anything that allows folks to be scared is going to be popular. Then they hit MickeyD's and go home to sleep.

More documentation please.

Blessings!

Nothing on www.snopes.com [snopes.com]

Yet....

(This is the Urban Legends Page of the San Fernando Valley Folklore Society, and it's one of the best on the Web. Their search engine isn't sophisticated, but I can usually pull up the "hits" I'm looking for first try.)

Gonna dig a bit more.

Happy Friday,

Sharon

Oh ye of little faith!!!

You can dismiss "urban myths" as much as you like...

Just remember the alligator (or "cayman"...or whatever it was) that was captured in Central Park!!!

We native Noo-Yawkahs knew 'bout those alligator colonies in the sewers for a long time now!!!
