No, actually I meant very traditional priests who disagree with John Paul II. It's nothing they've uttered from the pulpit, but rather private disapproval of ecumenical iniatives etc to myself and others.

Yes, I know of quite a few of those too. They're usually the ones with dancing girls and balloons on the altar during their Masses. wink [/b]
Are you quite certain of that?

It is not so unusual for a Catholic to be critical of the hierarchy. WE see it every day on this board!

The Pope is not immune from a critical assessment by the faithful, he is our pastor, not our God. We all are the church and we all make mistakes. Our priests are hard working and sincere, they are not automotons, they have suffered a great deal (throughout these last few years especially) and I think they deserve our utmost respect and support.

I have never seen dancing girls and balloons at the altar anywhere and I would suppose that 99-44/100% of the regular attending faithful have not either. I know you were just attempting to add a little mirth to the discussion but I am sorry I didn't find it as funny.

Please forgive me for being so blunt, it seems you and I will have to agree to disagree.

Michael
