After the death of Catholicos-Patriarch Addai II, the Assyrian Church of the East and the Ancient Church of the East has also been trying to heal their schism this year. When talks broke down and the latter elected a new Catholicos-Patriarch, people were disappointed (https://syriacpress.com/blog/2022/06/04/new-patriarch-elected-for-the-ancient-church-of-the-east/). The consecration ceremony should have been today but it seems the Catholicos-Patriarch-elect has decided to abdicate and continue re-unification talks again (https://syriacpress.com/blog/2022/0...nil-abdicates-two-months-after-election/).

It would be nice if their schism gets healed soon. Their schism also started in the 1960's, like that between the Serbian Orthodox Church and the Macedonian Orthodox Church. Given that the Serbian Orthodox Church and the Macedonian Orthodox Church has just reconciled this year, it isn't impossible for the Assyrian Church of the East and the Ancient Church of the East to do so as well.
