Messianism

Dear Fellow Eastern Rite Catholics, I am a Ukrainian-Catholic with a MA degree from La Salle University in Philly and I am intersted in writing a scholarly work on comparative messianism, an ism that has been part of the eastern christianity for hundreds of years, especially in the Russian Orthodox Church. Messianism is the concept of church and state being one. A liberal form of messianism is the United Kingdom, where the Queen is head of state and church. A more autocratic version was Imperial Russia, where the Czar ruled by decree of God and was the autocratic head of state, government and church. It is a concept that comes from Judaism, where Israel was ruled by a monarch such as David a who was spiritual and secular leader. America is not a messianic state, because the church is seperated from the state. In Asia, kingdoms such as Thailand, are messianic, because there the king is the reincarnation of the god-king. This is also the case in Tibet and the Dalai-Lama. Is this why the Eastern-European nations, such as Russia, easily became messianic states, because of the eastern influence of Asian hordes or was it from the Middle East? Is the Day the of Judgement going to come when the world becomes messianic and God and Government are one and we re-enter paradise. Or is messianism going to be the power of the beast and his/her control of governments and the destruction of the world? This is the type of questions that I want to investigate by looking at messianism. I ask anyone for assistance in this matter. Where to look in the Bible and other religous texts. Where to look in works on religion, other than traditional and sacred texts and so on. I will be happy to share whatever you have to bring me. Thank You!
