On February 12, 2008, Archbishop of Freiburg Dr. Robert Zollitsch became the new head of the Conference of Bishops of Germany. This position had been occupied by Cardinal Karl Lehmann.

In the Archdiocese of Freiburg there is the Ukrainian Greek-Catholic parish of Saint Josaphat which in three places of the Archdiocese has centers where prayer-servises and other church and national events are regularly celebrated.

In the north of the Archdiocese two Ukrainian Greek-Catholic ministries are located.

Joachim and Anna Rejoice
