(Vatican Radio) On Saturday morning, Pope Francis granted his consent to the episcopal appointments made by the Chaldean Synod of Bishops.

The Chaldean Synod of Bishops made the following appointments: Fr. Habib Al-Naufali to the Chaldean Archeparchy of Bassorah; Fr. P. Yousif Thomas Mirkis, O.P, to the Chaldean Archeparchy of Kirkuk; and Fr. Saad Sirop to the Office of Auxiliary bishop for the Metropolitan Patriarcate of Babylon of the Chaldeans, to whom was assigned the titular See of Hirta.

The Pope also assigned the titular see of Foraziana to Mar Bawai Soro, in pastoral service in the Chaldean Eparchy of Saint Peter the Apostle of San Diego, CA, USA.

Joachim and Anna Rejoice
