Recent Ecumenical Gesture

I recently received this photo of Cardinal Sean participating in Resurrection Matins with Metropolitan Methodius at the Greek Orthodox Cathedral of the Annunciation over the weekend. Last Thursday, Met. Methodius attended the Chrism Mass at the Roman Catholic Cathedral of the Holy Cross at the invitation of Card. Sean.

This is another moment in a long-standing history of collegiality between the Latin Archbishops and Greek Orthodox Bishops and Metropolitans of Boston, which traces to the early 1950s, during the incumbencies of Richard Cardinal Cushing and Bishop Athenagoras, both of blessed memory.

Many years,

Neil
