Dear Tammy
I am so sorry to hear about your miscarriage. If this was your first pregnancy, then it is especially difficult. I had a miscarriage about 20 years ago. I was crushed at the time. But since then I have had two children. One is actually grown and off to college. Time will help, but in the meantime, we all pray for you and your family.

This was my fourth pregnancy. I have three wonderful boys already. My oldest is 8 and he was crushed. The other two are 6 and 3, and they aren't showing much reaction. Hopefully they are too young to be affected.

We named the baby Shannon, which can be a girl's name or a boy's name, and we are having a Mass said tomorrow for him or her.

I'm 36 years old so time is running out to have any more children...

Prayers.

Tammy, don't worry about your age--my mom had her eleventh at the age of 42, and my finacee's mom is expecting her eighth, at the age of 45!

May God bless you Tammy, and heal you and your family through this time. I am so sorry for your loss.

May God bless all families willing and able to have Children, and instill a deep love for LiFE in those who do not yet seek familyhood.

God bless, sUSAn

God bless you and heal you and your family, Tammy.
Also a note of appreciation to all those who have already posted prayers here for you - what a great group!

Tammy,

Please be assured of my prayers for your consolation and for Shannon's Eternal Memory.

There is a prayer/blessing in the Book of Needs for a woman who has had a miscarriage. Maybe someone here who has a copy of the Trebnyk can post it for you, and you could have your priest (if I remember right he is Latin) pray it for you.

God bless you and St. Gerard pray for you,

Justin

Thank you all for your prayers. I will ask our priest for the prayer from the Book of Needs (I've never heard of that; is it a prayer book the Latin Rite commonly uses?)

Tammy,

The Book of Needs (Trebnyk or Euchologion) is the Byzantine Liturgical Book that has all the occasional services, blessings, non-Eucharistic sacramental services, etc. That is why I asked someone here with a copy to post the prayer, that way you could take it to the priest and have him say it, unless there is a comprable Latin prayer (I don't think so). Since it isn't a liturgical service, I don't see anything wrong with him praying the blessing for you.

Dear Tammy,

My aunt had a miscarriage a couple of years ago, so I know from personal experience how devastating it is to the family. With God's help, you'll soon have another beautiful child.

Praying for you and your family.

May the Lord lighten your load. May He let you feel the care and concern and love in which we hold all of you in this hard time. May all of you find support and consolation in this.
