In your good prayers, please remember Monsignor Father +John Macko who fell asleep in the Lord yesterday (February 20th). A priest of the Metropolitan Archeparchy of Pittsburgh.
May the Lord God grant to his priestly servant, the priest +John, blessed repose. May his memory be eternal!
The monsignor, who was around 92 or 93, was my mother's cousin and I last spent time with him over the summer, when I was able to get him out of his house in Lyndora, Pa., and take him to Eatin' Park.
Although macular degeneration had taken his eyesight, and walking was a chore, he remained mentally alert and enjoyed a good conversation. He also maintained an active spiritual life and it was a blessing to have known him.
