With all due respect to everyone involved in this discussion, I think that the idea of a satanic mind controlling Britain is not on the cards ever. Lets just hold on and see what happens when the Conservatives get in.

How about arming the hundreds of thousands of Russkies in England? Then, when they've beaten off the Hagarene hordes they can put up a new Czardom. Fr. Andrew Philips will be sooo happy. LOL. laugh

What we are seeing in England is merely a microcosm of the failed and diseased West, writhing in agony whilst afflicted by the diseases of humanism, greed, lust and power seeking. The King of this world is setting up his dominion, feeding upon the fruits he has sown. "He who has eyes to see, let him see, and he who has ears to hear, let him hear."

Fr Andrew would not be the only one happy to see an Orthodox Czar arise in Britannia. For the day is at hand when the Orthodox Emperor shall return to Rus, and we shall know that the final days are upon us, for it is he who shall stand against the AntiChrist and wound the head of the Beast.

What a cheerful, inspiring point of view. It makes me want to join right up. crazy

Look: The sky isn't falling. Britain is not becoming 1984. The czars were not all-pure and all-good. Etc.

The world is changing, but the world is always changing.

The Gospel remains: because Jesus Christ is the same yesterday, today, and tomorrow. (Hebrews 13:8)

Could we please have some Christian hope around here? And some realism too?

As it happens, Christian hope and realism do not contradict each other. "Realism" is often used as a code word to dismiss Christian hope. Thirty years ago, or even twenty-five years ago, did the self-proclaimed "realists" believe that Communism in Eastern Europe was rapidly approaching collapse? Or that Pope John Paul II would be one of the key figures in that collapse?

A modicum of genuine realism will tells us that God does indeed act in history, and that any world-view which would discount the possibility of divine intervention is - dare I say it? - unrealistic.

I say this, that Brittain has seen Dark days before, only to hold the most imoressie revivals of all time. I think that,a fter she hits bottom, she'll revive. its a matter of time. In the interum, we wait in Darkness for the breaking of Dawn.

30 some odd years ago, Fr Seraphim Rose prophetically dedicated his published works to the New Christian Martyrs with the words "Today in Russia, tomorrow in America", summarizing the prophecy of the clairvoyant Elder Ignatius of Harbin, Manchuria, who in the 1930's had said: "What began in Russia will end in America". And are we not seeing this occurring more and more on a daily basis? America now has an openly Marxist individual as President. In Canada, quoting the Holy Bible can be inferred as "promoting hate speech", and land the perpetrator in prison. Sodomites are desecrating the meaning of marriage. 40 years ago, Archbishop Averky of Blessed Memory wrote "Never before on this earth has there been such a huge number of people who freely and easily, without any shame, without any pangs of conscience "call evil good, and good evil; that put darkness for light, and light for darkness; that put bitter for sweet, and sweet for bitter!" (Isaiah 5:20)." As I stated yesterday, "Let he who has eyes, see". Each breath we take takes us closer to the final days. And it will be soon, for so evil has the world become that God will act lest all become consumed by evil and perish.
