I guess that's what some people do when their talent is limited and running out at that and they are getting less and less attention.

Where are people like Aretha Franklin, Frank Sinatra, and Jackie Gleason?

Oy. This is a bit disgusting, to understate things. C'mon, bishops, who's boss, her or you? Make it CLEAR, cause we're listening.

This is the catholic who came over to Scotland - got Married here and had her son Christened in a Church of Scotland Church.

She really was a great advert for the RC Church having dabbled in this and that and the other

Excommunicated?!

I thought she was a ex-Cath, ex-Hindu Kabbalist who almost kicked out by the Rabbes.

The Vatican is probably waiting until she goes out on a riverboat to be ordained a womanpriest. wink

With all she has done I think it is safe to say she left the RCs long ago and could not care less. So she is already estranged from the RC's. Confession of course remains an optin but I would not be holding my breath on that one.

Don't you think she's probably excommunicated herself a thousand times over? It doesn't serve any good to state what is already blatantly obvious.

She pulls stunts like this because no one has bought the last 3 albums she has put out.

I agree with Teen. Why does anyone want to play her attention seeking games anyway. Plenty of young new talent out there. She has to try and shock people to cover up her lack of talent.

Next story please.....

True enough, Pavel. As a deprivation neurotic, she would probably wear it as a badge of honor.

And just to be clear, I'm not advocating for a public event either. I agree with Teen. I just posted it because it was "newsy" and the Church seemed to be gearing up for a response.

Dear Friends,

Perhaps the Church's reaction should be one designed to ridicule her rather than turn her into a "martyr" for the liberal, anti-religious sort.

Perhaps the Pope could say that "that does it - I will definitely NOT be buying a copy of her latest album . . ."

She hasn't been a Catholic in good standing since her baptism, as I understand . . .

We could organise 'a bell, book & candle' party at your place and send her off for sure. Tell them all to bring a large bottle and a plate. biggrin
