I was only thinking about this yesterday. I note the influence of the Evangelical Protestnants on the terible Litugy I witnessed. I see the same with the Malabars, as well. A number of them have come to Australia to fill Latin vacancies and they also show they really dont know what good liturgy is anyones Rites/Churches but they do show the influence of the Protestants alright.

Pavel, we expect that the new Melkite bishop for Sydney will be ordained by our Patriarch 19 September in Lebanon. We do not yet have a date for his enthronement in our Australian cathedral.
Of course, dates change in the Middle East ... smile

I spoke with Archimandrite Robert today and he tells me that he anticipates his enthronement to be served in mid-October.

Many years,

Neil

Thank you for this news Philippe. The next hurdle will be getting past Australian Immigration. No easy task as the UGCC Bishop found when he was comign to take up his Eparchy.

It's not an "installation," it's an enthronement!

See, I can be just as bad as all you Byzantines and your "it's not Mass, it's Divine Liturgy" hysteria. wink

But seriously, installation? That's what my cable guy does.

I'm confused over the influence of Evangelical Protestantism on the Melkite Church's Liturgy in Australia.. It seems so implausible and unlikely but I'm not disputing anybody's word...how do you think this came to pass?
