Holy Cross Greek Catholic Cathedral, Uzhgorod Ukraine

The Greek Catholic Cathedral of the Elevation of the Cross (Holy Cross Cathedral) Exterior and Interior Photos and Bishops Throne. Constructed in 1646. at first it was a Jesuit Order Monastery but in 1773 it was turned into a Greek Catholic Cathedral (Eparchy of Mukachevo.)

Also kept in the Cathedral is the tomb of Blessed Bishop +Theodore Romzha, Bishop of the Mukachevo Greek Catholic
Eparchy, he was murdered by the Communist regime on November 1, 1947.

On October 10, 1991 after the legalization and restoration of the Greek Catholic Church, the Cathedral was returned to the Epharchy of Mukachevo on October 10, 1991 and on June 27, 2011 Blessed Bishop +Theodore was beatified by Blessed +Pope John Paul II. On June 29, 2003 the martyered bishops relics were transferred to the Cathedral

As a note of interest, on the side room where vestments are kept to the left of the main altar there is a beautiful tiffany icon window of Our Lady of Mariapocs with the most vibrant colors. Also, straight up and directly in the center of the baldacchino over the altar is a stunning carving of the Sacred Heart of Jesus.

Do you have any contact info for the Greek Catholic Cathedral in Uzhgorod?
I am researching my grandparents who came from the area.
A name and an email would be great.
Thank you.
