Dear Archimandrite Father Gregory,
Our Logos Teen has started a prayer thread for you as well so it will be in the 'prayer section'.
I am moved to read of yours and OrthoMan's stories ... and so terribly saddened to read of the stories of our members whose family members were so neglected by Roman Catholic clergy.
What a heartbreak!
I am going to have to take a moment to digest all of these stories - it's awfully strong stuff!
And I did read some things about Saint Pantelemion when it was his feast day ...
No, OrthoMan, I had no idea you had a Roman Catholic friend who is a Mother Superior. I am glad to hear of her recovery, and yours, and all those who've been helped.
We are fortunate to have so many wonderful people 'round here posting.
Blessings to you all, and prayers for our new friend Arch. Fr. Gregory!

I personaly know of Orthodox priests who have communed Catholics in some situations.

My aunt who is Roman catholic, when she went to Syria, attended the Orthodox Divine Liturgy and she was given communion with the approval of the priest knowing she was Catholic.

In also know a Romanian and a Serbian priests who do give communion to Catholics.

Bless, Father Archmandrite!

And you are today's intention for my "Bohorodychna Lestovka!"

Every day now, God is guiding me to pray for someone!

As the theologian, Lesius, wrote: God always hears our prayer more expeditiously when we pray for others!

Father Gregory -

Please be assured of my prayers as well.

I have also heard of a priest in my hometown who refuses to visit the sick and the dying in a hospital less than a block away. He has people call a priest friend of mine who lives some 5 miles away.

IMHO, any priest who refuses the Mysteries to the dying (of his own jurisdiction) should be defrocked or even excommunicated. One wonders if he was ordained only for the lucrative retirement plan! wink

Your compassion towards the dying, Father Gregory, is an inspiration to us all.

Peace and all good -

Gordo
