Father, bless! Your post in the Prayer forum reminded me... St. Isaac of Syria Skete sells a lovely icon of St. Joseph the Betrothed. It shows him holding a scroll and two turtledoves, presumably en route to the Temple. I've always loved it, because it shows him doing what he did best - trusting God & doing the right and loving thing in the face of insufficient and contradictory information. Should you consider purchasing this icon for yourself, let me give you a friendly word of "warning" in advance. This icon has a mind of its own! I have actually purchased THREE copies of it, and I have yet to be permitted to keep a single one. On each occasion, it became abundantly clear within a short time after it arrived that it belonged somewhere else, where there was a need. Who am I to contradict St. Joseph?? I'd really like to have a copy to keep someday, but there's no particular rush, I guess. I'm considering suggesting to St. Isaac's that they sell this particular icon in six-packs.... Best from FRIGID Central Ohio, Sharon

Dear Sharon, +The LORD bless you! Greetings on the great Feast of St. Anthony of the Dessert, the founder of the monastic life! I myself have the icon of St. Joseph the Betrothed from Holy Transfiguration in Boston...and have also noted that I have to keep getting more and more...because there is always someone who asks for one or where did I get it or how can they get one. So I end up just giving then mine.
May St. Joseph bring us constantly closer to His foster-child, Our Blessed Lord Jesus!
In His Holy Name, +Father Archimandrite Gregory
+Father Archimandrite Gregory, who asks for your holy prayers!

Angel of Glasgow, my Guardian Dear, So far the bottle is still nice and mostly full, and I am terribly grasping and greedy about keeping this one.(As I recall, there were dire threats if I didn't. ) Of course, should you return to Lourdes, iwould not at all object to becoming the temporary Keeper of another bottle - just until a need becomes evident elsewhwere. This business with St. Joseph is of an entirely different order - and I am intrigued that our holy Archimandrite has experienced the same phenomenon. Generous impulses and personal preferences have NOTHING to do with it - when St. Joseph wants to move on, it's HIS show!We who purchase the icons should simply become accustomed to the fact that it's only a temporary placement. Oh - and with that bit of household stuff, it had been sitting in a little dish for about 4 years, and I had a sense that it belonged somewhere else, but I wasn't sure where. Then you went shopping, and I knew. Glad it got where it belonged. Cheers, Sharon
