No matter how many times I tell my son that I am technologically challenged and do not even know how my cell phone works, he says "read the manual." Oh yeah. I tried. Honestly, I did.

He still cannot understand as it comes so easy to him.

Elizabeth Maria:

So ask him what you ever did to him that he won't give you the respect you deserve as his mother. What makes him think he should expect everyone to be like him? We all have our share of talents. None of us has them all. My son is learning some home repair skills at Habitat that he never seemed to be able to obtain form having me guide him. My daughter can work rings around him even after this exposure--she has it naturally. They both do well at accounting and love math; I hate math (bad experienc in elementary school).

Maybe you need to find some neighbor kid who'd be glad to tutor you. Sometimes kids respond to an adult who is not their parent and you may become a mentor for some kid who wouldn't help his own parent but be tickled to help you.

I guess I can ask one of the ESL students I tutor how to use a cell phone (I mean how to use all those other buttons to recall messages, etc.). They would probably love the experience of talking in English and thus practicing conversation.
