Eternal memory...may all Patrick's sins be forgiven...may the blessed Mother of God bestow comfort on his family and friends...
(by the way, just out of curiousity, because I couldn't help but wonder, was Patrick a teen altar server or an adult altar server?)

O gracious and merciful Lord, receive the soul of Thy servant, Patrick. May his memory be eternal. O Lord, grant him peace and grant peace to his loved ones who remain behind. Thank you, Lord.

20 years ago today it was Good Friday and I found myself standing with my other relatives at a place we never thought we'd be: beside the coffin of my 17 yr. old cousin Shelley. She had been killed the day before when she imprudently tried to beat an on-coming train across a RR crossing, on her way to school. Altho the pain of her death has, over time, lost some of its immediacy, we're still not "over" it.

So I can appreciate what Patrick's family must be going through. may their sorrow be turned into joy, and their mourning be turned into dancing. And may Patrick, together with Shelley, now stand among the saints before the Throne of the Lamb.

Memory eternal

He was an adult altar server, ECF teacher. 26 YO.

The funeral is Wednesday. The delay was related to legal issues related to the accident investigation.
