I often get confused when it comes to the teachings of the Byzantine Catholic church when it comes to such things as mortal and venial sins and confession.

When does the Byzantine Catholic church teach one should go to confession? What is its stance on mortal and venial sins?

Thanks for any help!

You are free to follow those Latin concepts, but you should try to learn and follow the Eastern Tradition. There is no such thing as a "venial sin" -- All sin is Mortal! Use Confession to master the passions...

A good place to begin is PartIII, The Mystery Lived:
