I don't see how Bishop Michael divided but on the contrary rather worked for unity between various Greek Catholic factions. I think some Rusynophiles condemn him precisely because of his rapproachment between Ukrainians and Rusyns/Slovaks.

Looking at the deep divisions in the US between Greek Catholic after the death of Bishop Soter Ortynsky, which continue to exist frown I think Kyr Michael's work in this regard was admirable and it seems a little ironic for anyone in the USA pointing fingers at him with regard to "Greek Catholic unity" when the situation in the USA was and is much more divisive than that in Canada.

How was unity reached? A sub-eparchy was created for what, 4 or 5 parishes? If that's the case, then the once united Prjashev Eparchy should be divided up into four sub-eparchies. One for the Slovak-orientation, one for the Magyar-orientation, one for the Ukrainian-orientation and one for the Rusyn-orientation.
