March for Life - 2010

Here are a few of the photos I took at the March for Life on Friday, January 22nd. Crowds were estimated to be about 400,000, although the pro-death media reported "several thousand".

Last year I could not find the Byzantines and marched with the Orthodox Christians for Life. This year I could not find the Orthodox!

The Orthodox Christians For Life moved from their usual spot at the Rally. For some reason they congregated near the Smithsonian "Castle" and so wound up near the end of the March. Disappointing, especially as I could not finish the March or attend the Moleben and Litya for the Unborn since I had to be at my bus by 4:15.

I missed seeing you this year, John!

Glory to God! Hurray for you ByzanTEENs for Life and seminarians! I saw at a distance what looked like a young Orthodox priest at our West Coast Walk for Life yesterday. We were separated by a muddy bog and I wasn't able to get close enough to say HI. The great teens, young adults and many seminarians here yesterday were a great inspiration again to us older folks. I tried without success to connect in advance with some other Orthodox and ECCs to be able to walk together. Next year...

I normally ask for a Blessing. They were not where I expected them. The MARCH started late so only those of us that drove ourselves were able to stay till the end. My group 17 kids and 11 adults made it to the METRO around 6 PM and it was standing room only.

I know what you mean. My husband and I go for two days to the DC MARCH. We always end up staying at a RC Parish.

I saw the ByzanTeens For Life at the start of the March but was too far away to read the print on the sign. Thanks for submitting the picture.

I was with the Orthodox Christians at the end of the March. The police were trying to clear the streets. The group stopped twice and began the Molyben, but were moved on by the police both times. The police were determined that all the streets would be clear by 5PM, so there was nowhere to go to do it. I hope next year the group can have a different position in the March.
