Correction - Rome does not assert that the conditions for the conversion of Russia have been fulfilled; Rome asserts (and with good reason) that the conditions for the consecration of Russia to the Immaculate Heart of Mary have been fulfilled.

Dear Incognitus,

Correction: Our Lady of Fatima asserts that the latter will lead to the former.

And I believe her over you any day! wink

(At least I know her real name . . .)

Rome has assigned Cardinal Kasper to draw up the former conditions . . .

Alex,

Yes, it's been quite awhile! My posting privileges were taken away for sixty days...

I understand that there are alternative viewpoints concerning the consecration of Russia to the Immaculate Heart. I have my own opinions, naturally, but I don't think this Forum is the place to hash out those concerns. wink

And it seems that you are doing well!

I will be leaving for college in about a month, so hopefully my last "full-time" month here on ByzCath will be fruitful and charitable.

Cardinal Casper has always,it seems.Been willing to sacrifice Eastern Catholics for False Ecumenism. He is even now trying to suppress the mniscule Russian Rite church in Russia. As a sop to the hysterical complaints of the Russian Orthodox church.Which in case anyone forgot was a willing servant of Stalin's.

Dear JOHNYJ,

But Rome has always been wanting to engage the Russian Church in dialogue, since 1596 and before.

The EC churches in the area were simply "experiments" gone awry when they didn't ensure union between Moscow and Rome.

So it's not just a contemporary phenomenon.

Dear Friends:

Interesting how Fatima keeps coming up in relation to Russia and her conversion.

I was in Portugal when sister Lucia died (may God grant her glory amongst the saints).

During the television presentations on her life, there was film footage of an interview which I had never seen.

A Roman Catholic bishop from Russia (don't know where from) came to her convent for a visit.

In speaking to the Bishop she mentioned that they (the seers) never understood the conversion to be from Orthodox to Catholic, but from evil to good.

I saw, and heard it with my own ears.

She also spoke in a very nice Portuguese dialect, with just the slightest hint of a Spanish accent.
