Dear Friends,

This week the Supreme Patriarch and Catholicos of all Armenians is coming to my parish, St. John the Baptist, Southfield, Michigan. I hope to personally get to meet the successor of St. Thaddaeus the Apostle and of St. Gregory our Holy Illuminator. If I do, I know it will be one of the great honors of my life.

"His Holiness Karekin II, Supreme Patriarch and Catholicos of All Armenians, will be welcomed in Detroit next week, following his month-long visit to the parishes of the Western Diocese.
In Detroit, the Catholicos will lead a hrashapar service at the St. John Church at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday (6/21), before attending a reception and dinner with parish council members. On Wednesday (6/22) the Catholicos; Archbishop Khajag Barsamian, Primate of the Eastern Diocese; and Detroit community leader Richard Manoogian will meet with former U.S. President Jimmy Carter and work on a home through the Habitat for Humanity project."

Bill,

Gee, maybe you can convince him to appoint you webmaster of Holy Etchmiadzin's site and finally get it back on-line biggrin .

Seriously though, that's wonderful news. I know from personal experience what an honor and privilege it is to meet one's spiritual father and I think that incorporating a worthwhile endeavor like Habitat for Humanity into His Holiness' schedule was a wonderful decision.

May God grant His Holiness many years.

Eis polla aeti, Despota.

Many years,

Neil
