Dear Cyril,
Actually, the 63 Hail Mary's had numerous mysteries attached to them, but the original was based on the 63 Hail Mary Rosary of Schrocken in the Vorarlberg Alps - which is still recited there to this day.
What they do is add some words to the "Jesus" in the Hail Mary - and Byzantines can add this after "Christ the Saviour" in theirs:
First decade
Who chose you from eternity who created you in holiness who made you full of Grace who brought you to the Temple in your 3rd year who blessed your consecrated virginity who gave you in marriage to the Righteous Joseph who sent the Angel Gabriel to you who overshadowed you with His Holy Spirit who led you to assist Elizabeth your cousin who revealed your unsullied virginity to St Joseph
Second Decade
who was born of you whose coming was announced to shepherds by angels who was named "Jesus" on the 8th day who was worshipped by Wisemen from the East with whom you came to the Temple who was praised and glorified by Simeon with whom you fled into Egypt whom you did seek as lost whom you found in the Temple after 3 days who was subject to you
Third Decade
who was baptized by John on whom the Holy Spirit descended whom God the Father proclaimed to be His well-beloved Son who fasted for 40 days and nights in the desert who was tempted by satan who chose His Apostles and Disciples who was called sinners to repentance who performed great miracles who prophesied the future who gloriously entered into Jerusalem
Fourth Decade
who sat down with His disciples to eat the Passover who washed the fee of His disciples who established the Holy Eucharist who went with His disciples to the Mount of Olives who prayd three hours unto the shedding of His Blood who was ministered to by an angel who was betrayed by Judas and arrested by a mob who was taken to Annas and Caiaphas who was denied by Peter who moved Peter to remorse and tears
Fifth Decade
who was falsely accused by Pilate and Herod who was dressed by Herod in a white robe who was scourged who was crowned with thorns whose cruel death the crowd demanded who, though innocent, was condemned to death who carried His Cross who fell three times beneath His Cross who was stripped and nailed to the Cross who died on the Cross
Sixth Decade
who triumphantly rose from the dead who appeared to His disciples who made them His Apostles who made Peter the head of His Church who gloriously ascended into Heaven who sent us His Holy Spirit who sent His Apostles into the whole world who took you, O Most Holy Virgin, to heaven who crowned you as Queen of heaven and earth who will come again to judge the living and the dead
Seventh Part
whom we ask you to pray to revealt to us His Word whom we ask you to pray to help us keep His Word in our hearts whom we pray to grant us all Grace.
The 63 Hail Mary's are for the years the Theotokos lived on earth (there are other numbers). And the seven Our Father's are for her seven joys and sorrows.
The original rosary of Schrocken has no Our Father's but the 63 Hail Mary's with the above additions were recited continuously.
There is also a rosary of the 15 Joys of the Mother of God:
Christ's coming to save us
Annunciation
Visitation
Magnificat
Nativity of Christ
Visit of the Shepherds
Adoration of the Magi
Meeting in the Temple
Finding in the Temple
Miracle at Cana in Galilee
Feeding of the masses with bread and fish
Suffering the Cross and Death for our salvation
Resurrection
Ascension
Assumption of Mary and her Coronation
Cheers,
Alex

Yes, I think the Orthodox want EC's to be more autonomous so as to make the temptation to rejoin their Mother Orthodox Churches ever more emphatic! Alex, I'm afraid your logic again manages to escape me.

Dear Alex, I've been looking over earlier parts of the conversation, and I'm becoming more and more convinced that either you are or I am confused about what has been said here and by whom. In particular, in each of the following posts you seemed to think that you were paraphrasing something I had said. (Perhaps you had me confused with someone else?) Dear Peter,
...
The Orthodox, I will agree, are sending mixed messages on this matter. On the one hand, the Orthodox have always told Rome to give the Eastern Catholic Churches full autonomy to "be who they are" and the like. I see your point, however.
IF the Orthodox Church is so "anti-uniate," what is it doing giving advice to Rome on the EC Churches autonomy et al. And what is the ROC doing criticizing Rome today for not keeping a tighter reign on the UGCC? What I'd like to know is, when you said "I will agree ..." and "I see your point" were you alluding to me (as it would appear) and hence intending to ascribe those ideas to me? And, if so, where exactly did I express those ideas? Or, if not, what exactly did you mean? And, if I might be so bold, perhaps you could be a little more careful in the future not to attribute anything to me unless you are certain that I said it? Not only does it hinder the conversation, but it leaves me feeling a bit manipulated. -Peter.

P.S. Now that I've answered your question, feel free to answer mine, i.e. What I'd like to know is, when you said "I will agree ..." and "I see your point" were you alluding to me (as it would appear) and hence intending to ascribe those ideas to me? Thanks and many years, Peter.
