Through the intercession of St. John of God, may Mila's heart be healed. Through the intercession of St. Luke may the surgeries proceed without incident. Lord have mercy on her!

Dear Friends,

Thank you for your prayers.

At 2:00pm EDT yesterday Mila was admitted.

There were additional complications that the surgeons needed to address.

The surgery was completed at 8:30pm. Mila is now in intensive care and will be there for approx 7-10days,.

Alleluia, Alleluia, Alleluia, Praise the Lord for His Wonder.

Thank you all for your prayers.

Brad

There was extensive bleeding due to being taken off and put back on the heart lung machine.
At 12:00pm today the bleeding stopped.

Jackie, Ava and I will be going by the hospital tomorrow evening to see wee Mila.

She is in intensive care at the moment and they are only allowing parents and grandparents to visit, minimizing the risk of infection.

Last night we went by Toronto's Hospital for sick Children to see wee Mila.
Looking at all the youngsters in there, suffering, hanging on, and recovering, we really don't realize how lucky we are sometimes.
We were able to see Mila. She looks great (relatively speaking)
She's got a lot of fight in her. The nurses had to put a weight around her hand so she would not try to take out the tubes.

She'll be in the critical care unit for a few more days until the fluid is completely drained.

Thank you all for your support and prayers.

Ironically, our 3 year old daughter Ava, commented on how she needed to go to the hospital because her tummy was sore. biggrin
I think she likes how nice everyone is there.

Also, Last Sunday night I gave Mila's father, George my Lourdes Rosary that belonged to my Grandmother (+eternal memory)

George is Greek-Macedonian Orthodox and does not practice often, however, he made a point of showing me the hospital chapel where he frequents everyday and is wearing my Rosary around his neck under his shirt. He said that he's been rubbing the Corpus for good luck.
I told him that it's not a "rabbit's foot" and he does not need to rub it. wink Maybe just kiss it.

Thanks again.

Update...

Dear Friends,

On Friday Mila was moved from the Critical Care unit to a step down room. She is recovering well.

On Sunday she was moved from the step down unit to their own room with minimal supervision.

Yesterday they removed the nasal feeding tube and Mila is back on the bottle.

I suspect, hope and pray that Mila will be discharged by end of week.

Thank you all once again for your prayers and concern.

Brad

GLORY TO GOD!!!

May the Good Lord bless and heal her and her wonderful family all the days of their lives...
Our Father, Who art in heaven,
Hallowed be Thy Name.
Thy Kingdom come.
Thy Will be done, on earth as it is in Heaven.
Give us this day our daily bread.
And forgive us our trespasses,
as we forgive those who trespass against us.
And lead us not into temptation,
but deliver us from evil. Amen....

My dear friends,

My niece Mila is still in hospital. What we had originally thought was a 7-10 day stay has now ended up being a month.
She is continuing to drain fluid built up around her lung. She will be there until the draining stops.

Please continue to pray for Mila, and her parents Helen and George that all will be well, in God's time.

Our entire family is going through stressful times, as Jackie and I are moving into our new house, we are also preparing for the arrival of our 2nd child in 4 weeks.

Lord, give us strength to focus on the important things in life, and guide our ship through the wavy waters.

per Christum Dominum nostrum.

Amen

Brad.

Strengthen them anew in your love Jesus, casting upon you all the trials and tribulations that have come - while being free to rejoice in the gift of new life that is about to spring forth - your wonderful creation of life Jesus. Most Holy Theotokos pray for the whole family as well as Mila's healing.

Brad, old friend,

Prayers for Mila, her parents, grandparents, and your entire family, that she and all of you be strengthened and held in the arms of the Theotokos. Prayers too that Saints Luke, Cosmas, and Damien, Unmercenary Physicians, guide little Mila's physicians in their care of her that she grow strong and healthy and be blessed with many years.

Neil
