Dear friends,

Late last night my husband Paul complained of a "comet shaped" hole in his left eye's field of vision. He's got a rush appointment at the eye doc late this morning, for what we strongly suspect is a partially detached retina.

The whole family has been down with the latest hit & run respiratory virus for most of the week. My daughter has been trying to cough up a lung for most of two weeks now (she caught it first, and generously shared...), this is the first day I've dragged my sorry carcass to work this week, and of course, I'll meet him at the eye doc's...

Depending on what happens there, I may not be back online today (and I'm usually only online during the week). Would you please be kind enough to toss a few pebbles at the good Lord's window 'til I get back?

Thanks,

Sharon

Prayers indeed - Detachments are not fun - but usually very successfully dealt with [ a specialist in detachments lives across the road from me biggrin ]

Hope all goes well and by the time you see this [ next week if all goes well wink ] I will be on my way to you-know-where and will do all the appropriate things - candles, prayers etc .

Sharon,

I will remember your husband during prayer around the Holy Table during the Divine Liturgy. As the lass from Scotland has stated, a detached retina can be rectified. With time, ointment, and some dark shades worn around the waking moments, I pray your husband should be fine.

Gaudior,

on bended knee? during Pascha? tsk, tsk. :p

Thanks everybody!

Update:

I met him at the doc's (and got an entire LARGE skein of yarn wound into a ball between the time we arrived & the time we left) and they examined, dilated, hemmed and hawed.

The retina is NOT detached.

The thingie seems to be a manifestation of some diabetic changes. The doc is not sure why it is interfering so much with his field of vision, given its position. It's also out of the area where they usually do laser treatments, but we have an appt for next Thursday, to see a retinal surgeon (who knew there was such a specialty??) to evaluate the possibility of zapping it. My demented husband the Mad Scientist helpfully offered to make a laser and shoot himself with it....

Anyway, please keep the pebbles flying - the "hole" is driving him nuts, and I sure hope it can be zapped with a (non-home-made) laser soon.

Thanks,

Sharon

Isn't it remarkable, God is the Light of the World!

What is He using to heal more and more people but light. He is uncreated energy, using His energy in ways that people could never have imagined. Zapping an eye with a light to heal it...Go figure!

Have been praying today and will continue.

Most Holy Theotokos pray for us!

Christ is risen!! Indeed He is risen!!!

Sharon:

Praying for your husband, Paul. Our Lady of Kazan is reported to have effected many cures of eye-related maladies.

Will also pray for your children and you--flu at any time of the year is not a good thing, but this year's variety seems to be a bad one.

Sharon

My prayers that your husband's eye ailment will be successfully treated and that you and your daughter will soon feel well also.

Many years,

Neil
