I am new to this forum, though you all know one of my sons and his fiance (Sarai). I am asking you all to keep my 2 oldest sons- Joseph and Matthew- in your prayers, along with their finaces. Joseph and Elise are planning a May 21st wedding. Matthew and Sarah are planning their wedding sometime later in the year.
Keep Joseph and Elise especially in your good prayers. Though Elise is taking instruction in the faith, she is not at all comfortable in the Church.
Blessings to you all,
Alice

Well when moms pray in agreement God moves heaven and earth biggrin The Scripture that comes to my mind immediately of Simeon...

Lord, now you let your servant go in peace. Your word has been fulfilled. My own eyes have seen the salvation which You have prepared in the sight of every people. A light to reveal You to the nations and the glory of Your people Israel. Amen.

You my dear Sisters in Christ, Michele and Alice, are presenting your children in one voice pure and holy before the Throne of Grace. Do you realize how much heaven is rejoicing? I am crying typing.

The darkness of this world will try to throw obstacles in the path, but our God is greater, than he who is in the world.

As we prepare our dauther in law for Baptism, I understand what you are saying. Yes she desires to be one with her husband and child in Christ, in the Church, but there is a bit of doubt. Only God in time can heal that doubt. I know for myself when God brought me into the Church, I was like ok Lord I am here. Now what? Jesus you got to walk me through the Bible and show me all about this. He did, the icon of the Last Supper above alive, I realized I was there with Him. That is why in the East you see the one side of the table empty, because we are there.

One of the Godmothers for our family faithfully attended St. Josephs for many years with her husband, but she remained Methodist. Sitting there one Pascha looking at a life size crucifix that was in the Church at the time, she heard the Lord say to her, "Betty, what are you waiting for?" She immediately talked with Fr. Mike and began her entry into the Church.

Lord Jesus Christ, you hold these mothers and their children in the palm of your hand. Look upon their hearts, grant peace, strength, and presevernce to the families, that they may rejoice together in you for the work you are doing in their lives and that of their children. Amen

Hi Alice,

Welcome to the Byzantine Forum. Great to have you posting here on the prayer thread too.

My prayer is that... The blessing of God be upon all those you mention: Joseph and Elise and Matthew and Sarai, and may they receive good instructions and grow in love of God and one another. I especially pray that Elise will be able to receive an increase in faith and become more comfortable in the church. Touch her heart, dear Lord, and open her ears to hear what she may need to hear. In the Name of Jesus I pray for all.

May peace prevail, joy come, and the love of God overcome any obstacles.

It's uplifting to experience reading, for the first time in my life, the respective mothers of the bride and the groom, agreeably preparing for their wedded bliss!

It presages better things to come!

Dear Alice,

That's O.K. if she's not comfortable in the Church!

Sometimes, I'm not comfortable in the UGCC! smile

Prayers, prayers . . .

Alex
