In you, O LORD, I take refuge;
let me never be put to shame.
In your righteousness deliver me and rescue me;
incline your ear to me and save me.
Be to me a rock of refuge,
a strong fortress,a to save me,
for you are my rock and my fortress.
Rescue me, O my God, from the hand of the wicked,
from the grasp of the unjust and cruel.
For you, O Lord, are my hope,
my trust, O LORD, from my youth.
Upon you I have leaned from my birth;
it was you who took me from my mother's womb.
My praise is continually of you.

I have been like a portent to many,
but you are my strong refuge.
My mouth is filled with your praise,
and with your glory all day long.
Do not cast me off in the time of old age;
do not forsake me when my strength is spent.
For my enemies speak concerning me,
and those who watch for my life consult together.
They say, "Pursue and seize that person
whom God has forsaken,
for there is no one to deliver."

O God, do not be far from me;
O my God, make haste to help me!
Let my accusers be put to shame and consumed;
let those who seek to hurt me
be covered with scorn and disgrace.
But I will hope continually,
and will praise you yet more and more.
My mouth will tell of your righteous acts,
of your deeds of salvation all day long,
though their number is past my knowledge.
I will come praising the mighty deeds of the Lord God,
I will praise your righteousness, yours alone.

O God, from my youth you have taught me,
and I still proclaim your wondrous deeds.
So even to old age and gray hairs,
O God, do not forsake me,
until I proclaim your might
to all the generations to come.b
Your power
and your righteousness, O God,
reach the high heavens.

You who have done great things,
O God, who is like you?
You who have made me see many troubles and calamities
will revive me again;
from the depths of the earth
you will bring me up again.
You will increase my honor,
and comfort me once again.

I will also praise you with the harp
for your faithfulness, O my God;
I will sing praises to you with the lyre,
O Holy One of Israel.
My lips will shout for joy
when I sing praises to you;
my soul also, which you have rescued.
All day long my tongue will talk of your righteous help,
for those who tried to do me harm
have been put to shame, and disgraced.

+GLORY BE TO GOD FOR ALL THINGS!

I am moved to tears when I think of many who will be praying for me tomorrow! May the Lord bless and reward the faith of each and everyone of you...and grant you each a special place in His Kingdom!

With my heartfelt and eternal gratitude,
+Father Gregory, who prays for you!

+Father Archimandrite Gregory, who asks for your holy prayers!

Do not look forward to the changes and chances
of this life in fear; rather, look to them
with full hope that, as they arise, God, whose you are, will deliver you out of them.

He has kept you until now - do you but hold fast
to His dear hand and He will lead you safely through all things; and when you cannot stand,
He will bear you in His arms.

Do not look forward to what may happen tomorrow;
the same everlasting Father who cares for you today will take care of you tomorrow and every day.

Either He will shield you from suffering
or He will give you unfailing strength to bear it.

What can a child fear, surrounded by such a Father's arms?

Be at peace, then, and put aside all anxious thoughts and imaginations.

It's now 7 hours to Thursday and I just wanted to remind everyone that tomorrow will be "the day that the Lord has made" for us to pick up Fr. Gregory in prayer.

A little aside:

Every day ought to be a day when we pick up someone in prayer and carry him or her to the Lord. I especially recommend a prayer for "those who are in need of a prayer and have no one to pray for them." Sometimes people have no one to count on, sometimes they are so overcome with difficulties that they themselves cannot gather the strength to even call out for help to the Lord, and there are many other reasons.

One of the most inspirational things I ever heard was the way cloistered monks pray. They constantly pray for those they don't know, those they may never see, and even when they never find out the result of their prayer. But they do it for the love of God. And that's all the reward they seek.

May we all take a little inspiration from that kind of thought. May we follow their prophetic example.

In Christ,

BOB

Brothers and Sisters:

THIS IS THE DAY THAT THE LORD HAS MADE, LET US REJOICE AND BE GLAD IN IT.

A quick reminder that today Fr. Gregory needs us. He as been here for so many of us with kind words, spiritual gems, and the wisdom borne of a man who truly loves God and the people God has put in his path.

Wherever you are today and at whatever time you pray, it will all be one because we are united in purpose before the Face of Christ.
